Long Beach International Half Marathon

Oh boy, oh boy, where have I been!?

Well, life has been happening to me lately. My ground shook and I’ve been a wreck but I am trying to come out strong and positive no matter what. I may or may not write about it once I have more clarity on what I am really feeling but for now it’s time to build a new fortress. That means doing more of what I love to do, more fitness, blogs and YouTube videos soon!

I don’t know about you but when I clean out my closet, purse, and just clean in general, it really feels like the positive energy flows a lot more easier. On Monday after work I came home and did laundry, cleaned my makeup brushes, changed bed sheets and towels, cleaned out my purse and my wallet and it feelt like a fresh breeze of air. Baby steps…

One thing that I am so proud to share is that I checked off yet another thing on my 30 things before my 30s list!

I ran a half marathon this weekend and it was such a grand feeling that I am still feeling high on life from it. It was so nice to surround myself with amazing people with one same determined feeling of accomplishing the ultimate body and mind experience. I loved to see whole fit families running together, that is without a doubt what I aspire in life, a healthy fitness oriented family one day.

I picked the Long Beach Half Marathon because other more experienced runners had suggested it to me as a good choice for beginners because of the flat characteristic of it. And so I did.

I started running at 7:59 am and ran 13.1 miles in 1 hour and 57 minutes which is beyond what I ever secretly dreamt about. My realistic goal was 2 hours and 10 minutes. My secret goal was 2 hours and 3 minutes, which was a calculation of my bests times in my smaller training runs, but 1 hour and 57 minutes is just an ass-kicking time that I am very much satisfied with. After this ultimate run I am hooked. I am even considering a full marathon but for now I want to get a few more halves under my belt, and I am looking forward to it!

More to come peeps.

And just because I’m on a soul searching journey more than ever, I’m going to leave with an excellent quote that a girlfriend shared with me today.

You can meet someone tomorrow who has better intentions for you then someone you known forever. Time means almost nothing, character does.
